
Devotees to be offered buttermilk at Srirangam temple to beat the heat

Srirangam temple offers herbal buttermilk and paanakam to devotees to help them stay cool during the summer heat.
The Srirangam Sri Ranganathaswamy temple authorities have made arrangements for distribution of ‘herbal butter milk’ and ‘paanakam’ to devotees to beat the heat during this summer.
The exercise of distribution of butter milk and ‘paanakam’ with the support of donors commenced at the temple on Thursday. Joint Commissioner of the temple Sivaramkumar was present.
The buttermilk and ‘paanakam’ will be distributed to the devotees till June second week. The temple authorities have laid carpets made of coir to the various shrines in the temple complex to help devotees walk without feeling the heat on the floor.
