Election awareness campaigns gather momentum
Election awareness campaigns to attract as many voters to the polling booths on April 23 have gathered momentum across the district.
In the human-chain organised near VOC Stadium in Palayamkottai, District Collector R. Sukumar participated along with 300 students of various colleges here on Wednesday. The participants also took-out an awareness rally.
In Radhapuram, the women self-help group members organised ‘mehandi’ contest and two-wheeler rally while over 500 members of Electoral Literacy Club took-out awareness rally appealing to the public to fulfil their democratic duty on April 23 by casting their votes without fail.
In Tirunelveli segment, awareness camps were conducted on voting in Electronic Voting Machine and the role of Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT).
Meanwhile, General Observer for Tirunelveli and Palayamkottai Assembly segments Hrishikesh Bhaskar Yashod visited the polling booths coming-up at St. Joseph’s Girls’ Higher Secondary School in NGO Colony in Palayamkottai constituency and General Observer for Ambasamudram, Nanguneri and Radhapuram constituencies inspected the booth to be set-up at Piraancheri Panchayat Union Primary School under the Ambasamudram constituency.
