An 80-year-old woman was found with her throat slit at her house in Delhi's Shalimar Bagh area on Friday.
A PCR call regarding the murder of an elderly woman in her residence in BS block was received at Shalimar Bagh police station around 11 am.
On this information, police immediately reached the spot and found an elderly woman dead on her bed with her throat partially slit.
The woman was last seen by her son at night. A 40-year-old son who is mentally ill. No valuables are missing from the house. The door of the house was closed from the outside. Her ornaments were intact.
In this regard, a case of murder has been registered at Police station Shalimar Bagh.Four teams of the police station, special staff, and anti-auto theft squad (AATS) have been formed to probe the case. Meanwhile, the police have rounded up a few suspects.
As per the police, during the investigation of this case, a CCL, who is a family member of the deceased, was apprehended. He fell into bad company. He was demanding money from the deceased and when the deceased refused to give him money, he committed her murder.
