On August 3, an Army chopper with two people inside crashed into Ranjit Sagar Dam in Basholi area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district during a routine sortie. Now, 75 days later, the body of co-pilot Captain Jayant Joshi has been recovered from the water body in a joint operation by the Army and Navy.
The body of the other pilot, Lieutenant Colonel AS Bath, was recovered on August 15. On September 9, parts of the helicopter were found in a search operation by the Navy. Despite the use of specialized equipment, the mortal remains of Jayant Joshi remained untraceable until Sunday.
