Alia has never shied away from speaking about the love she has for her boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor. During an interaction with NDTV, Alia reacted to Ranbir's old chat and his stance on marriage. She had said that she is already married to Ranbir!

She said, "I'm already married to Ranbir Kapoor in my head. And, I think I've been married to him in my head for a long time (Laughs). But, I think he's not wrong. I think definitely. But, everything happens for a reason. I feel like the timing of even when we get married, it's all going to work out in all the right and beautiful way."

In 2014, during an episode of Koffee With Karan, Alia had picked Ranbir during a rapid-fire round and said she would marry him. Karan had asked Alia, "If your swayamvar were to take place today in Bollywood, name three men you would love to have contest for you," Alia took Ranbir's name first, followed by Salman Khan and Aditya Roy Kapur.

She then added that she would marry Ranbir.
