5 Indian students killed in road accident in Canada, EAM Jaishankar promises support

Five Indian students died in a road accident near Toronto in Canada on Saturday. The Consulate General of India in Canada is in touch with the victims' families to provide support.
Five Indian students died in a road accident near Toronto in Canada at 3.45 am local time on Saturday. Two other students were injured and have been admitted to a hospital for treatment.
According to Canadian news channel CP24, the passenger van in which the students were travelling collided with a tractor-trailer on a highway in Ontario.
The deceased have been identified as Harpreet Singh, Jaspinder Singh, Karanpal Singh, Mohit Chouhan and Pawan Kumar. They were all between 21 and 24 years old.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar mourned the demise of the five Indian students in a tweet on Monday morning. He reiterated that the Consulate General of India in Canada would provide all "necessary support and assistance".
EAM Jaishankar tweeted, "Deeply mourn the passing away of 5 Indian students in Canada. Condolences to their families. Pray for the recovery of those injured. @IndiainToronto will provide all necessary support and assistance."
