Over 361 girls receive monthly higher education assistance under expanded Pudumai Penn Scheme in Hosur, benefiting 9340 students.
Over 361 girls were issued monthly higher education assistance with their inclusion under the expanded Pudumai Penn Scheme under the Ramamirtham Ammayar Memorial Higher Education Scheme here in Hosur on Monday.
The Scheme envisions monthly higher education assistance of ₹1,000 to girls who studied in Tamil medium government schools from Classes 6 to 12. Currently, 9,340 girls pursuing higher education across 62 colleges are receiving higher education assistance under the Pudumai Penn scheme since the start of the Scheme from September 2022.
On Monday, the scheme was expanded to include students who have passed out of government-aided schools. Over 361 students pursuing higher education across 38 colleges were issued the Pudumai Penn higher education assurance cards by District Collector K.M. Sarayu.
