A 25-year-old married woman was allegedly given sedatives and raped by a man in Bhawani Nagar area in December last year. Three men have been arrested in connection with the case.
A 25-year-old married woman was allegedly given sedatives in her breakfast and raped by a man in Bhawani Nagar area in December last year.
The matter came to light when the woman approached Banganga police on Saturday night, alleging that she had been blackmailed and raped on several occasions since the incident in December.
According to a report published in the Times of India (TOI), the victim in her complaint stated that it was in December that the accused identified as Mithun Jataw, a resident of Dharampuri, Taamil Shah and Komal Jataw, both residents of Sanwer, had invited her to a house in Bhawani Nagar area where they offered her breakfast laced with sedatives which further made her unconscious.
It is alleged that the accused raped the woman while she was unconscious.
Since then, he repeatedly exploited her on several occasions, threatening to circulate her obscene pictures on social media.
Fed up with harassment, the woman narrated her ordeal to her husband, following which they approached the police to file a complaint against the accused.
As per TOI reports, based on the victim's complaint, a case was registered under relevant sections, following which all the three accused were arrested.
