DCP Namrata Patil told India Today that the victim's father had registered a missing complaint on August 31 at Wanwadi police station. The girl is a 7th standard student and had gone to railway station to wait for a friend. An auto-rickshaw driver befriended her. When her friend did not turn up, the auto-rickshaw driver offered to drop the minor home but took her to a room in an unknown location, where he and his associates raped her.
