1,485 take part in MLIRC ex-servicemen rally to address grievances

Ex-servicemen rally in Belagavi addresses pension, banking, and medical issues, honoring soldiers and facilitating connections.
An ex-servicemen rally with an aim to addressing grievances related to pension, banking and documentation-related issues under one roof was organised at the Maratha Light Infantry Regimental Centre (MLIRC) in Belagavi on Sunday.
As many as 1,485 veterans and Veer Naris from remote areas of the district and adjoining areas in Maharashtra attended the rally.
Brigadier Joydip Mukherjee, Station Commander and Commandant, MLIRC, presided over the rally at the Shivaji Stadium.
In recognition of the service and supreme sacrifice of soldiers, a total of 30 Veer Naris and five war disabled soldiers were felicitated by Brigadier Mukherjee.
The war disabled soldiers were felicitated with life-supporting equipment and financial assistance by Hero Motors as well as by Brigadier Sandeep C., Southern Regional Head, War Wounded Federation.
The event facilitated reconnection of the veterans with each other.
For the resolution of pension-related grievances, counters of Record Offices of various Services were established.
