Yash reacts to KGF Chapter 2's viral 'Violence Violence' dialogue, says people need entertainment

Yash's dialogue in KGF Chapter 2, Violence Violence, has gone viral. The actor said that Rocky mouths the lines to look cool and such dialogues are there to entertain the viewers.

KGF star Yash has now become a pan-India actor after the enormous success of director Prashanth Neel's KGF: Chapter 2, which was released on April 14. During an interaction with Rajdeep Sardesai on India Today Television, Yash spoke about the overwhelming response his film is receiving and also reacted his dialogue 'Violence Violence' going viral.

Directed by Prashanth Neel, KGF: Chapter 2 is on a dream run at the box office. The film starring Yash in the lead role crossed the Rs 750 crore mark worldwide in its first week. When asked if he was hoping KGF Chapter 2 to get such a response, Yash said, "I kind of wanted it. We hope to get this kind of response, looking at the way my teaser and trailer was received. But, the way people have turned out, it's overwhelming for sure."

Speaking about the violence shown in the film, Yash said that the action sequences are all choreographed and the film is more about character and his journey. He added, "Even when I say 'Violence violence' in the film, it's a very stylised thing. We always keep the family audience in mind. We always want them to sit and enjoy. From childhood we are taught where to take it seriously and where not to. That's a culture here. We call it action when it is choreographed and it is stylised. I personally feel it's more about the story, journey of the character and relatability, even when it is portrayed larger than life. And what connects is the emotion."

Yash’s dialogue, “Violence..Violence..Violence! I don’t like it. I avoid, but, violence likes me!” has gone viral. Speaking about the, Yash said that it adds humour to the action sequence. "According to me it's humour. When there is lot of things happening, and it's an action sequence and he comes around and says "Violence...violence, violence, I don't like it, I avoid but violence likes me.' It's a humour and tries to show that he (Rocky) is being cool there," said Yash.

He further added, "It is always important to understand why people come to the theatre. With all those storytelling, they need entertainment. If I just make it a serious conversation, it may not look like cinema. A lot of students are relating it (the dialogue) to exam. I think it's more about the essence."

KGF: Chapter 2 is helmed by Prashanth Neel and produced by Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films. The action thriller features Yash in the lead, along with Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon and Srinidhi Shetty in important roles. The film has cinematography by Bhuvan Gowda, music by Ravi Basrur and editing by Ujwal Kulkarni.
