
Women police take part in run for Women’s Day in Mangaluru

Women police join Mangaluru Runners Club's run to celebrate International Women’s Day, promoting fitness and community spirit.
Women police personnel were among those who took part in a run organised by Mangaluru Runners Club to mark International Women’s Day here on Sunday.
As many as 40 women police personnel were among the 200 runners who took part in the 5K and 10K run. Among them were Assistant Commissioner of Police (South) Vijaykranthi and Police Inspector (Lokayukta Police) Bharati. The participants sported specially curated T-shirts in shades of pink, blue, and green for the run.
Mangaluru Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy flagged off the run. While lauding those participating in the runs, Mr. Reddy advised participants, more so the first timers, not to over-exert themselves in the run. In case of difficulty, participants could walk down and finish the non-timed runs, he said.
The 10K run was flagged off at the Mangaluru Surf Club on Tannirbhavi beach at 6.10 a.m., while the 5K run was flagged off at the same location at 6.30 a.m. The 10K runners ran till the NMPT main gate and returned to the Surf Club. The 5K runners ran for 2.5 km from the club and returned to the start point.
