A woman living in Sydney shared a video of an elderly Indian uncle who regularly brought her home-cooked meals, a gesture that hit home for her in a foreign land.
The video, posted on Instagram by Dilpreet Taggar who works as an executive producer, showed how an elderly Indian man in her community had been regularly bringing her home-cooked meals.
In the clip, the uncle was seen walking into an office space, smiling warmly as he handed over neatly packed food wrapped in foil and containers. The video then cut to multiple snippets, with him bringing tiffins filled with parathas and achaar, snacks, and other homemade dishes.
In some moments, he was seen handing over food at the office, while in others, the gesture extended beyond, even reaching her during hospital visits.
In the caption of the post, she talked about what the gesture meant to her, writing, “Some people bring home to you,” while also adding context about life as a migrant and how small acts like these could carry immense emotional weight.
