With Covid no more a 'mahamari', caller tune may go soon. Internet rejoices with memes
India Today
According to reports, the Covid caller tune will now cease to exist and netizens can't be any happier.
Ever since the pandemic spread across the country, other than carrying the responsibility of wearing a mask, people have had to listen to an elaborate compulsory caller tune filled with information about Covid-19. While making phone calls in India, people would be greeted by a caller tune that began with a coughing sound, followed by a cautionary note on Covid-appropriate behaviour by actor Amitabh Bachchan.
Earlier in January 2021, the nature of the caller tune was changed but the problems associated with listening to such a long caller tune before making a call remained. It was tough for a person to make an emergency call without listening to the caller tune.
With a growing resentment regarding the caller tune, a report by news agency ANI has now indicated that the Covid caller tune will now be gone for good. Netizens didn’t waste much time on showing their respite.
