
Why no FIR against Twitter? NCPCR asks Delhi Police Cyber Cell DCP to appear in person

The NCPCR has asked the DCP of Delhi Policy Cyber Cell to appear before the body in person to explain why no FIR has been lodged against Twitter yet. Earlier, the body had expressed concerns over easy access to child pornography on the micro-blogging platform.
NCPCR has summoned DCP, Delhi Police Cyber Cell, to appear before the commission in person on or before June 29. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Anyesh Roy has been asked to explain why no action was taken against Twitter as per the NCPCR's letter to Delhi Police dated May 29 of this year. In its letter, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) asked Delhi Police to book Twitter on the basis of the findings of its recent inquiry. The commission had claimed in its letter that Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) is easily available on the micro-blogging platform Twitter.More Related News
