A photo of 'secret' notes carried by Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot during his meeting with Congress President Sonia Gandhi has got leaked and is making rounds on social media. Gehlot ended his profuse by apologising to Sonia Gandhi for the Rajasthan fiasco and also announced his withdrawal from the party's presidential race.
The photo of a note stating 'SP will leave the party' has prompted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to ask, 'Who is SP'? Captured by Malayala Manorama photographer Suresh Jayaprakash, the notes with the pointers show Gehlot had come fully prepared to put across his side of the story.
One of these read “SP will leave party..observer pehle report dete toh party ke liye achcha hota (If observers had given a report earlier, it would have been good for the party)." Another pointer read “Pehla pradesh adhyaksh jisne sarkaar girane ki poori koshish ki (The first state president who tried his best to topple the government)”, and a third read, “102 versus SP + 18”.
Reacting to this, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla shared a screenshot of the photo on his Twitter and asked, "Who is the SP that Ashok Gehlot's 'leaked note' (deliberately visible note) speaks of? Congress Jodo...Bharat to Juda hua hai ji."
