The Education Department issued a fresh circular for the 2026-27 nursery admission cycle. It introduced new timelines, distance rules and documentation requirements, adding more information to earlier December guidelines.
The Education Department has issued a new circular for admissions to Nursery, KG and Class 1 for the 2026-27 academic session in Delhi.
The admission process will begin on March 2, 2026, marking a shift from the earlier schedule under the previous circular.
Application forms will be available at schools from March 2 to March 16, 2026, and parents must submit completed forms in the drop box within the specified timings of 8:30 am to 11:30 am and 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
Only children residing in Delhi are eligible to apply.
The list of applicants and any errors will be displayed on March 18, 2026.
Selection will be carried out through a draw of lots on March 20, 2026.
