
Indian fashion shines bright at Oscars 2026

Several creations by Indian designers made their way to the Oscars red carpet and the after-party this year.
The influence of Indian fashion has always been global, and it was once again evident on one of the world’s most coveted red carpets, the Oscars. Jewellery and ensembles by Indian designers shone bright at the 98th Academy Awards, held in Los Angeles on March 15.

South Korean singer and rapper Rei Ami, from the Oscar-winning animated musical film K-Pop Demon Hunters, graced the Oscars red carpet in a Rahul Mishra outfit. Several Hollywood stars, meanwhile, opted for high-end jewellery by designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee. The designer is striving to make his eponymous label a global brand and also runs a store in New York. His jewellery pieces have already become an international red carpet staple and were recently sported by Kylie Jenner for a Vanity Fair cover shoot.

Noted journalist Zanna Roberts Rassi brought a riot of colours to the red carpet in an ikat-inspired beaded crop top designed by designer duo Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. Her hand-embroidered crop top with sculpted power shoulders shimmered with thousands of bugle beads, stones and crystals done on a luxurious silk brocade canvas.
