Blending heritage with modern technology, Royal Enfield is preparing to enter the electric motorcycle space with the upcoming Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6, expected to debut in India around mid-2026.
Royal Enfield is preparing to step into the electric era with the upcoming Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6. The motorcycle will mark the company’s first production electric bike and is expected to arrive in India around mid-2026.
The C6 revives the historic Flying Flea nameplate, a lightweight wartime motorcycle originally developed by Royal Enfield during the World War II. The compact machine earned its nickname for its agility and the ability to be air-dropped with paratroopers, making it one of the most iconic motorcycles of its time. Decades later, the brand is reinterpreting that legacy for the electric age.
Recent sightings of near-production test bikes around Chennai suggest that the electric motorcycle is approaching its final development phase. Unlike earlier prototypes that were heavily camouflaged, the latest test mules appeared largely undisguised, indicating that the production design is almost locked in.
The model first made its public debut at EICMA 2024 in Milan, where it previewed Royal Enfield’s approach to electric mobility. Prior to these latest road tests, development prototypes had also been evaluated in extreme conditions in Ladakh.
Spy images indicate that the production bike will remain very close to the original concept’s styling. The design blends Royal Enfield’s classic aesthetic with a modern electric architecture.
Key highlights include a circular LED headlamp, girder-style front suspension and a minimalist body layout. The motorcycle also features an exposed aluminium frame, while a belt-drive system mounted on the right side is expected to deliver a smoother and quieter riding experience compared to conventional chain-driven motorcycles.
