What a shame: Javed Akhtar calls out countries willing to shake hands with Taliban

Javed Akhtar spoke against the repression of women in Afghanistan and called on world leaders and civilised society to condemn the Taliban-led government.

Lyricist and film writer Javed Akhtar on Friday said it was a matter of shame that the "so-called civilised and democratic countries" were willing to shake hands with the Taliban. The spokesperson of Taliban has told the world that women are not meant to be ministers but to stay at home and bear children but the so called civilised and democratic countries of the world are willing to shake Talibani hand . What a shame . Every decent person ,every democratic government every civilised society in the world should refuse to recognise and condemn Talibans for their ruthless repression of Afgan women or let’s forget the words like justice , humanity and conscience. “The spokesperson of Taliban has told the world that women are not meant to be ministers but to stay at home and bear children but the so-called civilised and democratic countries of the world are willing to shake Talibani hand. What a shame,” he said.
