Tamil Nadu Speaker M. Appavu disburses ₹28.26 lakh to 2,126 beneficiaries at ‘Ungaludan Stalin’ camps in Tirunelveli.
Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker M. Appavu disbursed welfare assistance worth ₹28.26 lakh to 2,126 beneficiaries in a function held here on Wednesday to mark the completion of 10,000 ‘Ungaludan Stalin’ camps being organised across the State to address public grievances at the earliest.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Appavu said the Tamil Nadu Government, by bringing all government departments under one roof on a particular day, was receiving petitions from the public to address their grievances under the ‘Ungaludan Stalin’ programme. While 3,768 ‘Ungaludan Stalin’ camps were organised in the corporation, municipality and town panchayat areas, 6,232 camps were conducted in the rural areas to ensure the rendering of 43 types of services to the public.
In Tirunelveli district, 38 camps in Tirunelveli Corporation, 29 camps in Kalakkad, Ambasamudram and Vickramasingapuram municipalities, 34 camps in 17 town panchayats and 154 camps in village panchayats had been organised so far.
“Hence, to mark the organising of 10,000 ‘Ungaludan Stalin’ camps across Tamil Nadu, welfare assistance worth ₹28.62 lakh had been disbursed to 2,126 beneficiaries here today,” Mr. Appavu said.
District Collector R. Sukumar, Palayamkottai MLA M. Abdul Wahab, Mayor G. Ramakrishnan and District Revenue Officer M. Durai were present.
In a function held at Tenkasi, Revenue Minister K.K.S.S.R. Ramachandran distributed welfare assistance to the tune of ₹1.61 crore to 520 beneficiaries in the presence of District Collector A.K. Kamal Kishore and Sub-Collector, Tenkasi Vaishnavi Paul.
