Website to track interventions made by MLAs in Kerala Assembly launched

Discover MLATrack.com, the first website to comprehensively track interventions by Kerala MLAs from 2021 to 2026.

A comprehensive website that lists the interventions made by members of the Kerala Legislative Assembly has been launched.

Titled 'MLATrack.com’ could be used as a resource and tool to track the interventions made by the MLAs in the State from 2021 to 2026. According to a statement issued by Atyeti Research, which launched the site in collaboration with Sahya Digital Conservation Foundation, the website aggregates and presents crucial data related to Assembly proceedings, enabling greater visibility on the work undertaken in the Assembly.

Billed as India’s first database to track interventions made by MLAs, the website (https://mlatrack.com) has the profile of individual MLAs, a short biodata on each of them, visual representation of attendance, interventions and questions raised by MLAs, map of the constituency, date-wise details of interventions such as submission, calling attention, adjournment motion and so on, and date-wise questions raised with hyperlinks to answers.

The database has been created using publicly available documents from the websites of the Kerala Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Assembly Constituency Asset Development Scheme (LAC ADS) Portal. It will serve as an excellent platform for the public, media, and researchers to understand the work undertaken by 140 MLAs in the Kerala Legislative Assembly.

More than 68,000 questions (both starred and unstarred) have been raised in 16 sessions from 2021 to 2026. Some MLAs have asked more than 1,000 questions. There are 45 MLAs who have more than 95% attendance. Many MLAs have attended more than 100 debates and discussions. A few MLAs have also piloted private member resolutions and Bills. Thus, this database serves as a unique repository of information on interventions made by MLAs, said the statement.

The website does not rank, rate, or evaluate MLAs, nor does it make any subjective or comparative assessment of their performance.
