Tension prevailed in Shaikpet, Hyderabad, on Wednesday (March 25) afternoon when a crowd attempted to snatch LPG cylinders from a tempo transporting them. The Film Nagar police intervened to bring the situation under control. A video of the incident surfaced a day later and went viral on social media platforms.
The video showed a tempo loaded with LPG cylinders halted on a busy road in Shaikpet when it was surrounded by a large and agitated crowd. Several men were seen pulling cylinders off the vehicle, dragging them across the ground, lifting them onto their shoulders and tossing them amid the dense gathering.
According to Film Nagar police, two cylinders were lifted away from the vehicle by the public before officers intervened and controlled the crowd , preventing further chaos.
A local resident claimed that gas operators were not distributing cylinders properly and were unable to clearly communicate allocations, leading to frustration among people who were already facing delays.
Police personnel reached the spot on receiving information, dispersed the crowd and brought the situation under control. The cylinders were secured and the vehicle was moved from the area. Officials said no complaint was lodged by any parties in the incident and no police case was booked.
