Current water levels in Papanasam and Manimuthar dams in Tirunelveli, with inflow and discharge details.
Water level in Papanasam dam on Friday stood at 66 feet (maximum permissible level is 143 feet). The dam had an inflow of 44.38 cusecs of water and 304.75 cusecs of water was discharged. The level in Manimuthar dam stood at 94.13 feet (118 feet). The dam had an inflow of 102 cusecs and 645 cusecs of water was discharged.

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Friday pledged to mobilise people in resistance against the BJP-led Union government’s “anti-agricultural worker, anti-farmer, anti-worker, anti-people” laws and policies till they are all repealed, the party said on Friday. In a statement issued here, the CPI(M) said the members took the pledge following a three-day meeting held at Thiruvananthapuram.
