In a letter to Home Minister Amit Shah, Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga urged him to reconsider central government's appointment of the new state chief secretary Renu Sharma. He requested Amit Shah to appoint a Mizo-speaking official for the top job.
Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga has written to Home Minister Amit Shah requesting him to reconsider the central government's appointment of the new state chief secretary Renu Sharma.
In his letter to Amit Shah, Mizoram CM Zoramthanga urged him to appoint someone with a working knowledge of Mizo language for the top job. He said most of the people in Mizoram and many of his colleagues in the cabinet "do not understand Hindi" and even "have problem with English".
