Visakhapatnam will host the thrilling finale of the MRF MoGrip-FMSCI National Supercross Championship on February 7.
The grand finale of the 23rd edition of MRF MoGrip-FMSCI National Supercross Championship 2025 will be held in Visakhapatnam on Saturday (February 7), at the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation’s Indira Priyadarshini Stadium.
The championship has already travelled to Vadodara, Coimbatore, Nashik, Raipur and Goa, and for the finale has come to Visakhapatnam.
This is a historic first for Andhra Pradesh, as the event brings the country’s biggest off-road two-wheeler racing championship to a close. The stadium will be transformed into a high-intensity dirt arena featuring a custom-built 1,000-metre track—the longest in this year’s circuit, the organisers told the media on Wednesday.
“Unlike traditional outdoor races, the Vizag finale will follow a “Western-style” stadium format under floodlights. The technically demanding track is packed with 14 steep jumps, a tabletop, and a challenging “whoop-de-doos” section, designed to test the limits of over 120 riders across nine competitive categories,” said Shyam Medidi, director of the Sports of Authority of India (SAP), Andhra Pradesh.
The event is spearheaded by seven-time National Champion Shyam Kothari of Godspeed Racing, Pune. Locally, the initiative is driven by Raja Medidi, Director of the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh and an advocate at the High Court, through RRR Motorsports Association.
“Bringing an event of this magnitude to Visakhapatnam showcases our city’s readiness for world-class sporting spectacles,” said Mr. Medidi during the launch.
