Vivek Agnihotri's The Kashmir Files has taken the International box office by storm! In Week 1, it grossed $ 1.5 million, and it aims at a total of $ 3 million by the end of the second weekend.

It's a clean sweep for Vivek Agnihotri's The Kashmir Files. The Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi-starrer is wreaking havoc in the Indian market, despite strong competition from big-ticket films like Akshay Kumar's Bachchhan Paandey and Prabhas's Radhe Shyam. And it is going equally strong at the international box office. At the end of Week 1, The Kashmir Files grossed a whopping $ 1.5 million! As per early estimates, by the end of Week 2, The Kashmir Files will amass $ 3 million at the international box office.

In the Indian markets, The Kashmir Files crossed the Rs 100 crore mark in just 7 days. Not only in the domestic market, but the film is leaving a footprint in the international markets as well. The film grossed $ 1.5 million (Rs 11.4 crore approx) in select countries in Week 1, excluding major territories like the Middle East, Singapore and New Zealand.

Made on a limited budget, The Kashmir Files initially opened in only 9 countries and across 100 screens. Eventually, it was bumped up to 25 countries with 350 screens.

In North America alone, The Kashmir Files has grossed $ 1 million, followed by $ 160k in the UK and $ 262k in Australia. The Vivek Agnihotri directorial venture has also been trending in the Top 10 list at North America and Australia Box Office in its first week. Interestingly, in Australia, there is a great demand from smaller towns like Geraldton, Bunbury, Port Hedland where no Indian film has been showcased before.

Apart from Week 1, the second Friday has shown a 500 per cent increase compared to Day 1, an unprecedented feat for an Indian film. The second Friday collections stand at over $ 500k (Rs 4 crore approx).

Communities across the globe are also lending their support to promote the film - from branding at The Times Square in New York during its US Tour to the branding at one of the oldest underground stations in the world in Baker Street, UK. The film is also aiming to release in a few European and APAC territories in the coming days.

Written and directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, the exodus drama features a stellar cast of actors including Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumaar, Pallavi Joshi and Chinmay Mandlekar.
