V. Vijaya Prabhakaran, son of late Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) founder Vijayakant, has been declared the youth wing secretary of the party. The announcement was made at a meeting of the party’s general council and executive committee in Vellisandai, Palacode, on Wednesday (April 30, 2025).
Vijaya Prabhakaran had contested unsuccessfully from Virudhunagar constituency, losing to Congress candidate Manickam Tagore, in the Lok Sabha elections last year.
The announcement was made by party leader and general secretary Premalatha Vijayakant, who also sought unified support and cooperation from the grassroots upwards for his appointment.
