A man, who died due to lack of medical facilities in Varanasi amid the Covid-19 pandemic, was robbed of dignity in death. His mother was forced to transport his body in an e-rickshaw as no ambulance was available.
The Covid-19 pandemic has severely hit medical infrastructure across the nation. To make matters worse, after he died, his mother had to ferry his body on an e-rickshaw as no ambulance was available. A resident of Jaunpur, Vinay Singh had come to Varanasi for emergency medical care for a kidney ailment. He first went to Banaras Hindu University. After being denied medical treatment due to a lack of non-Covid beds, he went to a private hospital.
