Vaccine solidarity was a major focus of the conversation when Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Finnish counterpart Sanna Marin on Tuesday held a virtual summit.
India and Finland on Tuesday held “wide ranging” discussions during a virtual summit between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his counterpart Sanna Marin which lasted just under an hour. This was the first interaction between the two Prime Ministers since the Finnish Prime Minister assumed office in 2019. Both the leaders underlined that the longstanding close relations between India and Finland were based on shared values of democracy, rule of law, equality, and respect for human rights. They reaffirmed their strong commitment to work for multilateralism, a rules-based international order, Sustainable Development Goals and to combat climate change.
As per the Bill, those involved in unlawful conversions on the pretext of marriage will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and shall also be liable for a fine of Rs 1 lakh. Violations in respect of a minor, a person of unsound mind, a woman or a person belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and a fine of Rs 5 lakh.

India on Monday said it has not held bilateral talks with the United States on deploying naval vessels to secure merchant shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. The clarification came after US President Donald Trump urged countries to send warships to keep the strategic waterway open amid tensions with Iran.
