Uttarakhand govt shuts down schools in 3 districts amid Covid-19 surge

The government of Uttarakhand has shut down the schools in three districts due to the sudden surge in Covid-19 cases across the state.
The Uttarakhand cabinet has decided to shut down the schools in three districts- Haldwani, Dehradun, and Haridwar- for students of classes 1 to 12 till April 30. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the ongoing Kumbh Mela and the surge in Covid-19 cases in the state. Uttarakhand: Cabinet in its meeting today has decided to impose night curfew in Dehradun municipal limits between 10pm to 5am, says State govt's spokesperson."Night curfew will be implemented from tomorrow following the Cabinet order," says Dehradun DM Dr Ashish Srivastava. Apart from the closure of schools in all three districts, the government has also decided to impose a night curfew in Dehradun Municipal limits from 10 pm to 5 pm. The night curfew has been imposed to control the spread of Covid-19 in the state. Many students and parents were pushing for the closure of schools in Uttarakhand after the number of Covid-19 cases began to increase. The government had reopened the schools in February and January this year with several Covid-19 precautions.More Related News
