
UPSC clarifies after Rank 301 confusion, Ghazipur's Akanksha Singh's claim confirmed

The Union Public Service Commission has issued a clarification after reports surfaced that two aspirants with the same name, Akanksha Singh, were claiming Rank 301 in the Civil Services Examination 2025 results declared on March 6.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued a clarification after media reports suggested that two aspirants with the same name had claimed Rank 301 in the final results of the Civil Services Examination 2025.
The final result of the examination was declared on March 6, 2026. Soon after the announcement, reports emerged stating that two candidates named Akanksha Singh were claiming to have secured Rank 301. The development created confusion among aspirants and on social media.
Responding to the reports, the UPSC released an official statement to clear the matter.
According to the commission, its records show that only one candidate has secured Rank 301 in the Civil Services Examination (Mains) 2025. The commission also shared the verified details of the candidate to remove any misunderstanding. Details shared by UPSC over X
As per the UPSC statement, the candidate who secured Rank 301 is Akanksha Singh, bearing Roll Number 0856794.
The commission further stated that the candidate’s father’s name is Ranjit Singh, and her mother’s name is Neelam Singh. She is a resident of Village Abhaipur in Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh.
