
UP Police files chargesheet against 11 in Loni assault case

Eleven people have been mentioned in a chargesheet filed by Uttar Pradesh Police in connection with the Loni assault case. Two among them have been charged under Gangsters Act.
The Uttar Pradesh Police has filed a chargesheet against 11 people in connection with an assault on an elderly man in Loni area of Ghaziabad. Two accused have been charged under Gangsters Act by the police, which includes Parvesh Gujjar and Kallu Gujjar, whereas eight others have been booked charged under sections of Indian Penal Code, involving 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (insult to cause breach of peace), 506 (intimidation), 295(A) (deliberate act to intend outrage religious feelings), 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting with deadly weapon), 149 (unlawful assembly).
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
