
UP election: BJP to review poll preparedness in Braj region on August 15

A senior BJP leader said booth committees are to be verified between August 15 and September 15.
BJP national president JP Nadda and UP unit chief Swatantra Dev Singh held a meeting in Agra on Sunday and decided to review the preparations in the Braj region on August 15 for the 2022 state Assembly election. The party will verify booth committees, but most of them are not yet formed. A section of BJP leaders is worried and is busy pacifying dissatisfied workers, sources said. The workers, sidelined in favour of outsiders, since the BJP came to power, are demanding to be “recognised for their true worth”, which is creating problems in forming booth units, sources said.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
