Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday criticised the ruling CPI(M)-led LDF and opposition Congress-headed UDF for not bringing in legislation against 'Love Jihad'.

He also alleged that the office of his Kerala counterpart Pinarayi Vijayan is involved in the gold smuggling scam. Addressing a series of roadshows and BJP campaign meetings in various constituencies for the April 6 assembly polls, Yogi Adityanath alleged both the fronts were corrupt and had "betrayed" the people of the state. "This was the right time to give a befitting reply to the LDF and UDF," Yogi Adityanath said at Kattakada in Thiruvananthapuram, where senior BJP leader P K Krishnadas, is the party candidate.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
