Union Minister Anurag Thakur announced two schemes to boost production of foreign films in India during the 75th Cannes film festival on Wednesday.
The Union Minister for information and broadcasting, youth affairs and sports, Anurag Thakur on Wednesday announced two schemes to incentivize the shooting of foreign films and foreign co-productions with India.
The two schemes are an incentive scheme for audio-visual co-production and an incentive scheme for shooting foreign films in India.

Anurag Thakur announced the two schemes during the inauguration of the India Pavilion at the 75th Cannes Film Festival. He said the cash incentive for the scheme is up to 30 per cent with a cap at US $260,000. He added that in the case of foreign films that will be shot in India, an additional bonus will be provided with a cap of US $65,000 for employing 15 per cent or more of their manpower in India.
