Under the shadow of scrub typhus, Firozabad residents flee district fearing epidemic
India Today
As scrub typhus rapidly spreads through the district, residents of Firozabad are fleeing with their families to escape the deadly viral fever which has already claimed over 50 lives.
The mystery fever which was first reported in Uttar Pradesh’s Firozabad, now identified as scrub typhus, has brought life to a standstill in the district. When India Today visited Nagla Aman, where the first scrub typhus death was reported, the streets were deserted, and only a handful of people were seen sitting in the village chaupal. No kids were seen playing around, and the houses in the vicinity stood silent; only the painful sighs of the ailing were heard.More Related News
