
Ukraine President Zelensky rules out peace talks with Russia in Belarus, open to other locations

Russia sent a delegation to Belarus and said it was ready to begin peace negotiations with Ukraine there. However, Ukraine President Zelensky rejected the offer and said he's open to talks only in locations that are not showing aggression towards his country.
After Russia sent a delegation to Belarus and said it was ready to start peace negotiations with Ukraine in Gomel city, Ukraine President Zelensky rejected Moscow's offer.
He said that Russia has been carrying out some of its attacks on Ukraine from Belarus and he is open to talks only in locations that are not showing aggression towards his country. Locations acceptable to Ukraine President Zelensky include Warsaw, Istanbul and Baku.
"I am ready for negotiations in any country from where missiles do not fly," Ukraine President Zelensky said.

Earlier, Russian President Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov had said, “Russia is already ready for talks in Gomel. Now Moscow is waiting for the Ukrainians.”
Additionally, Ukrainian President Zelensky stated on Sunday that the Russian attacks had been 'brutal'. He said civilian infrastructure had been bombed by Russian forces.
"Last night was brutal. They attacked civilian areas where there is no military infrastructure. The occupying forces are attacking everything, including ambulances," he said.

Speaking at the White House, Trump said the United States was in contact with "the right people" in Iran and suggested that Tehran was eager to reach an agreement to halt hostilities. "We're in negotiations right now," he told reporters, without offering further details on the scope or format of the talks.
