
UGC asks universities to display banners publicising govt’s vaccination drive, thanking PM Modi

The University Grants Commission has asked universities to display banners to publicise the central government’s Covid vaccination drive. One such banner design thanks Prime Minister Narendra Modi for free vaccines.
The University Grants Commission (UGC), which regulates the higher education sector in India, has asked universities to publicise the government’s Covid-19 vaccination drive by putting up hoardings/banners in their institutions. Accordingly, the UGC has shared hoarding/banner designs in Hindu and English with the universities. These designs have been provided by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. In one design, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is being thanked for the government’s free vaccination drive. A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
