Two held for illegally charging fees in free-parking areas in Guwahati

Guwahati Municipal Corporation is now conducting random inspection drives across the city against the parking mafia who are collecting illegal parking fees from the public.

Acting on the repetitive complaints from people, two persons were held by the Enforcement Branch of the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) for illegally charging parking fees from the public at free-parking areas even without any authority and permission from the Municipal Corporation.

An FIR has been lodged against the two at the Paltan Bazaar and Panbazaar police stations for violating GMC rules.
