Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka emphasizes lifelong learning, ethics, and compassion for aspiring dentists at ACDS Silver Jubilee convocation.
The Army College of Dental Sciences (ACDS), Secunderabad, marked its Silver Jubilee year with its annual convocation ceremony on Saturday (March 7, 2026). Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka urged the graduating dentists to uphold ethics, compassion and continuous learning throughout their professional lives.
Speaking as the chief guest, Mr. Bhatti Vikramarka said that talent, ethics and compassion are the core principles of the medical profession. “In a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape, only those doctors who continue to study and adapt to developments in science and technology will be recognised as the best in their field,” he added.
Addressing the graduating class of 2026, he advised them to remember three guiding principles in their professional journey. The first is to maintain professional excellence by constantly upgrading their knowledge and skills. The second is to practise with ethics and honesty because patient trust forms the foundation of healthcare. The third is compassion, as medical practice ultimately centres on service to humanity.
The Deputy Chief Minister also expressed happiness over the large number of young women graduating this year, describing it as a positive transformation in society. He also noted that ACDS is the only dental college in Telangana to feature in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).
Drawing a parallel with military training, Major General Ajay Misra, General Officer Commanding (GOC) Telangana and Andhra Sub Area (TASA) and Chairman of ACDS, said the graduates are stepping out into professional life much like cadets receive their commissions after rigorous training at defence academies. “The degrees represent not just academic achievement but also dedication, discipline and long hours of clinical training,” he added.
ACDS Principal Mamta Kaushik, in her address, said the institution has a robust patient inflow, an excellent student-teacher ratio and state-of-the-art infrastructure, which together support quality clinical training. The college has also secured research grants, including an ICMR project worth ₹1.2 lakh and six ICMR short-term studentship projects this year.
