
Top Congress leaders to huddle ahead of Rauhl Gandhi’s ED appearance

Ahead of Rahul Gandhi’s appearance before the ED on June 13, top Congress leaders are set to hold a virtual meet tomorrow.
Congress general secretaries, in-charges, and all Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chiefs are set to hold a meeting via video conferencing at 4 pm on Thursday, June 9.
The meeting comes ahead of Rahul Gandhi’s appearance before the Enforcement Directorate on June 13 in connection with a money laundering case linked to the National Herald newspaper.
According to sources, several Congress leaders and party MPs have put forth a request that they want to accompany Rahul Gandhi when he appears before the agency on June 13. The request will be discussed in the party’s meeting tomorrow, sources added.
Rahul Gandhi, who was earlier asked to appear before the ED in the National Herald Case on June 2, had sought more time. The Congress leader was sent a fresh notice and asked to appear before the ED on June 13.
THE NATIONAL HERALD CASE
The National Herald matter came to the fore when former BJP MP Subramanian Swamy filed a case in the Delhi High Court accusing Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi of land grabbing and misappropriating funds worth thousands of crores of Rupees.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

India's original Dhurandhar, Ravindra Kaushik, rose from acting at college theatres, to infiltrating the Pakistan Army as a RAW Agent. According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
