Today at IPL 2022, LSG vs RCB: Bangalore look to build on luck after backdoor entry, up against indifferent Lucknow

IPL 2022, LSG vs RCB: Lucknow Super Giants have had a decent campaign thus far, but Royal Challengers Bangalore are in great form having won three out of their last four matches.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) looked one of the firm favourites to win the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 during the league stages. However, KL Rahul and Co. have looked a tad indifferent of late. After two back-to-back losses to Gujarat Titans (GT) and Rajasthan Royals (RR), the Super Giants somehow got over the line against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

They found themselves at the top of the table halfway through the league stage, but an indifferent end meant that they got pushed to third in the points table. Rahul’s men will now have to win three matches in a row to win the cash-rich T20 league this season.

The Challengers, on the other hand, had their moments of jitters in the ongoing edition of the T20 tournament. Their net run rate didn’t make it easy for them to qualify for the playoffs. In the end, they were dependent on Mumbai Indians (MI) defeating the Delhi Capitals (DC) in their last league game.

Luckily, the Mumbai-based team won and RCB made an entry to the playoffs through the backdoor. Veteran batter Virat Kohli also found his mojo after bagging as many as three golden ducks earlier in the tournament. It remains to be seen if RCB can carry on with their momentum.

Lucknow Super Giants

The Super Giants have faced quite a bit of trouble in their last three matches in the league stage. In their previous game, Rinku Singh’s brilliance almost robbed them off a victory. It goes without saying that Rahul and Co. need to up their game to make a comeback in the tournament.
