Trinamool Congress may ask its newly inducted member Sushmita Devi to lead the party unit in Assam, after Akhil Gogoi appeared non-committal.
The Trinamool Congress is likely to consider Sushmita Devi, who joined the All India Trinamool Congress on Monday afternoon after quitting the Congress, to lead the party in Assam after state MLA Akhil Gogoi remained non-committal, sources said to India Today. However, sources said that the TMC feels that Gogoi is too hardline with his connection to the ultra-left.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
