Earlier, when the BJP had opposed the naming of a Sports Complex on Tipu Sultan in Malad, Congress Minister Aslam Shaikh had circulated a letter saying that Ameet Satam had supported a proposal for the naming of a road in the name of Tipu Sultan in 2013.
However, Ameet Satam claimed that the said letter was fake, and his signature had been forged. He had also filed a complaint at Juhu Police Station saying that his signature had been forged and he was defamed by Shaikh.
