The MLAs walked a path cordoned off for the public amid tight security and an incessant spell of downpour that has caused devastating floods in Assam. It’s not just these MLAs who sought Maa Kamakhya’s blessing before the Maharashtra Assembly floor test on Thursday evening. BJP’s Himanta Biswa Sarma also visited the temple just before taking charge as the Assam Chief Minister. PM Narendra Modi visited the Kamakhya temple for the first time during the Assam elections in 2016.
