
Thai University confers honorary doctorate to VIT vice-president in Vellore

VIT vice president Sankar Viswanathan awarded honorary doctorate by Thailand's Rajamangala University for exceptional contributions to engineering and technology.
The vice-president of VIT, Sankar Viswanathan was conferred an honorary doctorate in engineering and technology management by Rajamangala University of Technology Krungthep (RMUTK), Thailand.
According to a press release, the honour recognises Mr. Sankar’s exceptional leadership, professional achievements, and his significant contributions to the advancement of engineering and technology management from Palakorn Suwanrath, Privy Council of Thailand and Pichai Janmanee, President, Rajamangala University of Technology Krungthep (RMUTK).
The honorary degree symbolises the highest level of academic recognition bestowed by the institution for distinguished service and professional excellence. In his acceptance address, Mr. Sankar acknowledged the shared culture and knowledge systems of India and Thailand and advocated for more active academic collaboration between the two countries. G. Viswanathan, founder and chancellor, VIT, was present on the occasion, the release said.
