Aditya Roy Kapur and Mrunal Thakur’s previously untitled film got a name, Gumraah. Based on true events, the crime thriller features Aditya in a double role. Gumraah is the Hindi remake of the Tamil film, Thadam. It is helmed by debutant director Vardhan Ketkar.
More than six months after beginning the shoot of Aditya Roy Kapur and Mrunal Thakur’s film, the makers have finally revealed its title, Gumraah. In the upcoming thriller, Aditya will be seen in a double role and Mrunal will play a cop. This thriller will showcase an intense face-off between the lead actors.
Aditya Roy Kapur completed the first schedule of Gumraah and has already begun the shoot of its second schedule today, May 10. Mrunal Thakur has also kick-started the second schedule in Mumbai along with Ronit Roy.
Before Aditya Roy Kapur, Sidharth Malhotra was signed to play the lead role in Thadam's Hindi remake. However, he opted out of the project for unknown reasons. On March 4, 2020, Sidharth shared a picture with producers Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani on Twitter and wrote, "Double trouble! Excited to be a part of this ultimate entertaining thriller, in association with @itsbhushankumar, @MuradKhetani and #VardhanKetkar. See you at the movies on 20th November, 2020 (sic)."
