
Telangana Weather | Rains to continue on May 29; orange alert in six districts

IMD issues orange alert for 6 Telangana districts and yellow alert for 15 districts due to heavy rain.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert (heavy to very heavy rain) to six Telangana districts and a yellow alert (heavy rain) to 15 districts for Thursday (May 29, 2025).
According to IMD’s latest bulletin, heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places in Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal and Peddapalli districts. And, heavy rain is very likely to occur at isolated places in Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy and Mahabubnagar districts.
However, Hyderabad and its surrounding areas for the next 24 hours will see generally cloudy sky. “Light to moderate rain and at times intense spells accompanied with gusty winds are very likely to occur in the city. Hazy conditions are very likely to prevail during morning hours. Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 32°C and 23°C respectively,” according to the IMD bulletin.
On Tuesday (May 27, 2025), the highest rainfall of 127.0 mm was recorded in Gundala of Bhadradri Kothagudem. The highest temperature in the State was 40.4C in Jangareddygudem, Suryapet.
