Telangana Minister to meet LPG Distributors to take stock of situation on March 14 afternoon, address artificial shortages and black marketing amid prioritization of essential services.
Telangana government issued directions to crackdown on people who created artificial shortage of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG). Civil Supplies Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy earlier directed officials to take measures against black marketing of the resource.
People were urged to dial toll free number 1967 to report hoarding or lodge grievances pertaining to the supply.
To take stock of the situation, he would hold a meeting with LPG Distributors Association at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat on Saturday afternoon where the latter might discuss situation on the ground and the impact of social media posts on people.
On Friday, the government said that priority is given to essential services or institutions such as healthcare, educational institutions, old age homes, orphanages and government bodies and the commercial LPG supply was temporarily restricted. The Minister said sufficient supply will be ensured for domestic users.
